When a cute family, with great taste, approaches you to decorate their renovated mid-century home in Newport Beach, you say “yes”. Our goal was to create a “warm modern” home, fusing classic mid-century pieces, with of-the-moment items…and keep it kid/pet friendly. A great formula for kid-friendly, but pretty living rooms is gray sofa + lighter chairs (they don’t get used as often as sofas) + leather accent.

My clients knew they wanted to splurge on an Eames lounger, so we started there and balanced that with a rug that was on super sale for $200. The rest of the furnishings are a mix of Room & Board and West Elm. If you know me at all, you know I think every room deserves a hint of pink. Those pillows…don’t even get me started…they are so fabulous. There are many stores online and in Orange County that sell them for $200 a piece and UP, but I found some from this awesome Etsy shop called Oriental Tribe. And guess what? They are beautiful in person and absolutely the real deal. We had the sofa pillows custom made and used the photographs my client already had in her home. Lucky for me, she is a very talented¬†photographer and has taken photos of many of my projects, including her own…
